1. What is the aim of this hackathon?

The hackathon aims to develop innovative solutions on the CrossFi Chain.

2. Who can participate in the hackathon?

Anyone with an interest in blockchain technology and relevant skills can apply to participate, whether as an individual or as part of a team.

3. What skills do I need to participate?

Participants should have skills in blockchain development, smart contract programming (Solidity), some system design and architecture, security, project management, and effective documentation.

A basic knowledge of Node.js and our TestNet is also highly recommended.

4. How long will the hackathon last?

The hackathon will last for 1 month. It is an intense hackathon and we understand the pressure.

Nevertheless, don’t worry too much and do the best you can in the given time frame.

5. How can I form a team?

You are encouraged to join the CrossFi Developer Discord and Telegram Groups for networking and team formation.

6. What are the technical requirements for the solutions?

A source code repository with an approved license posted on Github.

7. How will your solution be evaluated?

Solutions will be evaluated based on functionality, security, innovation, scalability, and adherence to best practices.

8. What are the deliverables for the hackathon?

Deliverables include the complete source code of the solution, a working prototype or demo, comprehensive documentation, and a presentation summarizing the solution.

9. What will you gain from participating in this hackathon?

Participants will have the opportunity to learn, network, innovate, showcase their skills, and contribute to the development of the CrossFi ecosystem.

10. Where can you get help if I'm stuck during the hackathon?

A dedicated channel is available in the CrossFi Discord for participants to ask questions and seek help.

Experienced mentors will also be available to guide participants.

11. What happens after the hackathon?

After the hackathon, successful projects will have the opportunity to present their solutions and win prizes.

There may also be further development support or funding opportunities.

12. Can we use external APIs or libraries in our solution?

Yes, participants are allowed to use any external APIs, libraries, or tools that help achieve the goal, as long as their usage complies with their respective licenses.

13. How many members can be in a team?

There's no strict upper limit on team size but we suggest 2-4 members, larger teams will require more coordination.

14. Can I participate if I don't know how to code but I am interested in blockchain technology?

Yes, you are welcome to participate.

There are other aspects such as idea generation, project management, and documentation where you can contribute.

15. What if I don't have a team but still want to participate?

You are welcome to join as an individual. We also encourage participants to network and form teams in the CrossFi Discord and Telegram Developer and Hackathon groups.

16. Will there be any prizes or incentives for the winners?

Yes, there will be prizes and incentives for the most innovative and practical solutions.

Also, all hackathon winners will be automatically admitted into our summer internship program if they would like.

Hackathon participants will also have priority admittance over regular applicants but will still need to apply.

17. How can I ensure my solution is secure?

Participants should follow best practices for blockchain and smart contract security, thoroughly test their solutions, and conduct security audits.

18. Can I update my solution after the submission deadline?

No, updates or changes to the solution will not be accepted after the submission deadline.

19. Will there be an opportunity to improve on the solutions after the hackathon?

Yes, participants are encouraged to continue refining their solutions after the hackathon.

20. Who owns the IP of the solutions developed during the hackathon?

The IP of the solutions developed during the hackathon will remain with the individual or team that developed them unless stated otherwise in the hackathon rules.

21. Will there be any in-person elements to the Hackathon?

Yes, on August 13th at the Blockchain Futurist Conference in Toronto, Canada our head of Developer Relations, Haley Cromer, will present a 30 minute hackathon workshop for ETH Toronto at 12:40PM at the upstairs hackathon stage.
